Covid-19 and Africa: Interactive Data Dashboard
TBI’s work is grounded in a firm understanding of the evidence, which is why we’re sharing what we consider to be some of the key metrics for understanding the Covid-19 crisis in Africa – from the epidemiological pathways of the virus to the state of food security and governments’ response measures across the continent.
Our caseload data is drawn from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, which provides a reliable daily snapshot that enables longitudinal comparison. Our testing data comes from the Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics (FIND), and our data on governments’ social and economic measures comes from the Oxford COVID-19 Government Response Tracker. We also draw on the World Food Programme’s HungerMap, which tracks and predicts hunger in near real time.
We use the data to develop insights and provide policy advice to support African governments in responding to a wide set of challenges thrown up by the Covid-19 crisis. It also informs the work we do with other governments interested in partnering in Africa.
We’ve made this dashboard interactive so that you can filter, rank and drill down on data and make country and time-sequence comparisons.
