Cleo Blackman

Director of Programmes, Tony Blair Institute for Global Change


Cleo Blackman is currently Director of Programmes for the Co-Existence pillar of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change. She oversees a team designing and implementing innovative projects that help to generate evidence on how to build cohesive societies and resilience to conflict and extremism, from London and New York City to Nigeria and Kashmir. Before joining the Institute, Cleo spent ten years in the UK civil service, mainly working for the Department for International Development and Cabinet Office in a range of policy and programming roles based both in the UK, and overseas in Afghanistan and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Cleo has a Masters in Development Studies from the University of London, Birkbeck.
