Cleophus "Tres" Thomas, III is a PhD Candidate at the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University. His dissertation research focuses on the dynamics of implementing power-sharing forms of government in weak and fragile states, particularly in Somalia. He holds an M.A. in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University in Washington, D.C. and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As part of his professional work, Tres has served as an Africa political and security analyst and government advisor. He has also worked as a dialogue facilitator for several peacebuilding projects in the U.S. and East Africa.
