Profile

Daniel focuses on Islamist militancy, in particular its manifestations in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. He has contributed to the Institute’s Global Extremism Monitor, providing analysis on the developing threat of extremism in the Philippines and Indonesia. Before joining the institute, he worked in journalism and political campaigning. Daniel is proficient in Arabic and holds an MSc in Modern Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Oxford and an MA in Arabic and Modern History from the University of St Andrews.
