Peter Chonka has recently submitted his doctoral thesis at the University of Edinburgh on local news media and the ongoing political reconfiguration of Somalia. He is currently a teaching fellow at the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London) working on African and comparative politics courses. Previously he was employed by a major international humanitarian organisation in Kenya, south-central Somalia and Puntland, and prior to that worked in educational development for the University of Hargeysa in Somaliland.
