Rishon Chimboza is Managing Director of Africa Advisory at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change. He is responsible for our work across 18 countries in Africa to enhance the effectiveness of governments for developing and emerging states, because the single most important determinant of a country’s success is the quality of its government. He is an inspiring leader who brings a truly optimistic mindset to our work.

Prior to joining the Institute, Rishon worked in investment promotion, extractive industries governance and strategic communications, advising at executive and ministerial level across Africa, firstly as East and Southern Africa head of the mining, oil and gas practice at Adam Smith International and subsequently as head of the Kenya office for the pan-African business strategy firm, Africa Practice. Additionally, Rishon has provided market entry and policy advocacy support to some of Africa’s largest private sector investors in the energy, agriculture, manufacturing, telecommunications and agriculture sectors
