Abetnego Tarigan

Abetnego brings over two decades of experience as a public-policy and development practitioner in both government and the public sector to our work in Indonesia.

Prior to joining TBI, he served in Indonesia’s Executive Office of the President, first as a senior advisor and later as deputy chief of staff, where he led delivery on national priorities including agrarian reform, the Covid-19 response and peatland restoration.

Abetnego is also a strong advocate for sustainability, and was head of WALHI, Indonesia’s leading environmental NGO, as well as serving on the executive committee of Friends of the Earth International.
