Jaynisha Patel

Jaynisha joined TBI in October 2022 and specialises in geopolitics, peace and security with a focus on Africa. Previously, she was a project leader at Africa’s leading peacebuilding think-tank, the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation, where she covered the peace-development nexus and used public-opinion data to shape policy debates on good governance, social cohesion and security. Her work has featured in publications including the Mail & Guardian, Foreign Policy and the Washington Post. She has also been invited to present her research at conferences such as the Belgrade Security Forum and in the media on BBC World Service, Voice of America and Newzroom Afrika.
