John-Arne Røttingen

Dr John-Arne Røttingen is CEO of Wellcome. Previously, he served as ambassador for global health at Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was the founding CEO of the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI). He was also chief executive of The Research Council of Norway and executive director of infection control and environmental health at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health. Dr Røttingen received his MD and PhD from the University of Oslo, an MSc from Oxford University and an MPA from Harvard University.
