Côte d’Ivoire

SOTRAPACI factory in Côte d’Ivoire processes raw Ivorian cashew nuts into products for export.

Côte d’Ivoire has one of the most vibrant economies in West Africa and is a leading exporter of cash crops including cocoa, cotton and cashews. However, with close to 50% of the population living in poverty, the country is well below its full economic potential. For this reason, President Ouattara and his government’s vision is focused on moving up the value chain to secure agriculture processing and manufacturing.

We are supporting the government’s ambition to increase domestic cashew processing by helping Côte d’Ivoire attract and retain foreign investment in the sector. Similarly, we are helping the government to develop the garment sector alongside the development of industrial parks.
