Jonathan Said

Head of Inclusive Growth and Private Sector Development Practice

Profile

Jonathan leads the Institute's Inclusive Growth and Private Sector Development Practice. The practice combines governance and private sector development expertise to support governments to roll out their own visions of economic transformation and inclusive growth. Jonathan also provides cross-cutting support to our governance and delivery work across Africa. Prior to taking on this role, Jonathan served as the Country Manager for our work in Liberia where he managed our team of advisors and served as an advisor to the President and various Ministers on private sector development and agriculture transformation.

Before joining the Institute, Jonathan worked as a long-term embedded advisor in Malawi's Ministry of Trade and Industry, through Imani Development, and in Guyana's National Competitiveness Strategy Unit, through the Overseas Development Institute's Fellowship. He started his career working as an economics consultant with the Center for Economics and Business Research in the United Kingdom. He has an MSc in Economics from the University of Warwick.
