The annual meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative University took place last Saturday at the University of California Berkeley. It brought students and experts together to discuss innovative solutions to global challenges, and AGI’s Dan Hymowitz was invited to speak on lessons learned from Ebola.

On a panel with Dr. Mohamed Barrie of the Wellbody Alliance and Kassia Queen from Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), he argued that during future crises international partners should make sure not to go it alone.

"Ebola response worked best when international partners supported the governments to lead it. The essential lesson for future crises is for partners to recognize that it's not our response."

The work described here was carried out by the Tony Blair Africa Governance Initiative, it is now being continued by the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change.
