The Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI) is delighted to announce the forthcoming appointment of Dr Jörg Schubert as Managing Director, Middle East, North Africa & Central Asia.
Starting mid-November, Jörg is joining TBI as former Senior Partner from McKinsey & Company, with nearly 25 years of consulting experience in the Middle East. Jörg was one of the founders of the McKinsey Public Sector practice in the region, which he led for more than a decade. He brings extensive experience in helping leaders drive economic diversification, strengthen delivery and introduce analytics for better policy design – expertise that sits at the heart of TBI’s mission to help governments reimagine the state for the AI era.
Based in the UAE, Jörg will oversee TBI’s growing portfolio across these diverse and rapidly evolving regions, leading high-performing teams that partner with governments committed to change. His appointment marks an important milestone in TBI’s global expansion and underscores the Institute’s commitment to helping countries harness the opportunities of the technological revolution to deliver better outcomes for citizens.
Catherine Rimmer, CEO of TBI, said: “Jörg’s experience working with governments on large-scale reform makes him a tremendous addition to TBI. His leadership will be vital as we expand our support to partners across the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia – helping leaders deliver real impact for their people.”
Dr Jörg Schubert said: “I’m delighted to be joining TBI at such an important time for governments across the region. The Institute’s mission – to help leaders deliver real impact for their citizens – is one I deeply share, and I look forward to contributing to that work.”
TBI now operates in more than 40 countries, advising political leaders and governments on strategy, policy and delivery with technology as the enabler of all three. Jörg’s appointment strengthens the Institute’s ability to turn ambition into action in some of the world’s most dynamic regions.
