Jonathan leads the Inclusive Growth and Private-Sector Development Practice at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change. The practice combines governance and private-sector development expertise to support governments to roll out their own visions of economic transformation and inclusive growth. Jonathan also provides cross-cutting support to our governance and delivery work across Africa. Prior to taking on this role, Jonathan served as the country manager for our work in Liberia, where he managed the Institute’s team of advisers and served as an adviser to the president and various ministers on private-sector development and agriculture transformation.
Before joining the Institute, Jonathan worked as a long-term embedded adviser in Malawi's Ministry of Trade and Industry, through Imani Development, and in Guyana's National Competitiveness Strategy Unit, through the Overseas Development Institute's fellowship. He started his career working as an economics consultant with the Centre for Economics and Business Research in the United Kingdom. He has an MSc in economics from the University of Warwick.
