Anton Spisak

Anton Spisak is currently leading a work programme on reviving the UK’s productivity and growth. His research focuses on trade, economic policy and UK-EU relations. He has published extensively on the UK’s withdrawal from the EU and its economic and political implications.

Before joining the Institute, Anton was a senior policy adviser in the Cabinet Office and, more recently, in the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, where he worked on the Brexit negotiations. Before that, he held roles at the Financial Times, where he worked as a leader writer, and at the Institute for Government and RAND Corporation.

Anton regularly contributes to media, having written for the Financial Times, the Times, the Prospect, and various European outlets; he has also appeared on the BBC, Channel 4 and Euronews. He has given evidence to the House of Commons and the House of Lords committees.
