What is the Global Network for Change (GNC)?

The GNC is our platform for members to engage with, and contribute to, our policy thinking and to engage in thought leadership through networking and events. The network comprises those whose values align with TBI’s.

Members of the GNC will often be contacted to contribute to our policy work through consultations and roundtables, owing to their expertise in specific areas. These consultations are exclusively for research purposes; a member’s contribution will form one of many on a paper. TBI maintains complete intellectual independence over our work.

How does TBI protect its intellectual independence and prevent lobbying on behalf of its donors?

TBI’s funding mix is deliberately diversified and set up to provide a sustainable source of income for our advisory and policy work, while protecting the integrity of what we produce. Our funders want to work with TBI because of their shared values and belief in our work – but we don’t change our views to suit them.

Where we recommend specific technologies to governments, this is based on their suitability for the governments’ needs and context. We work with a range of technology partners, and will always recommend the best solution for each specific context.

We categorically do not, and will not, lobby for any external partners with any government.

Who leads TBI?

What happens to any excess income TBI makes?

We are a not-for-profit. All money goes back into TBI’s activities.

Does TBI support any political parties?

No. TBI is non-partisan. Our focus is on providing solutions that are progressive, radical and practical. We believe that technology is the greatest tool we have in delivering this.
