Dorcas serves as a Senior Programme Officer at the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa, a pan-African institution catalysing agricultural transformation in sub-Saharan Africa. She previously served as a director responsible for policy, institutional and capacity building at a USAID-funded Kenya Crops and Dairy Market Systems Programme. Dorcas has also served as a Senior Programme Manager for the Africa Lead II, USAID-funded Policy and Institutional Capacity building programme. In the past, she served as the Kenya Focal Person for Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) and also as the deputy coordinator/director for the Kenya’s Agricultural Sector Coordination Unit, which comprised ten agricultural-sector government ministries, a host of development partners, private sector and other non- state actors.
Dorcas has extensive public/private-sector work experience and demonstrated proficiency in developing and applying approaches and techniques for process consultation and/or change management; proven ability to conceptualise, innovate, plan, advocate and execute ideas, as well as to impart knowledge and resource-mobilisation skills. She has indepth expertise in project/programme design and/or formulation, project-life-cycle management, agricultural/agribusiness knowledge management, and management of complex budgetary needs and performance-based matrix.
