Musa Kpaka is a senior advisor at TBI working in the Centre of Government (CoG) in Sierra Leone as Chief Technical Adviser to the Chief Minister in the Office of the President. In this role, he supports the presidency in policy formulation and delivery on H.E President Bio’s top economic priorities. Musa also part of the leadership team at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, where he advises the Minister to deliver on the National Agriculture Transformation Programme. Before returning home, Musa worked at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA), where his work focused on transforming the agriculture sector in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.
Musa was born and raised in Sierra Leone. He is a trained development economist; he has a master’s degree from Harvard University and he received his PhD from the London School of Economics. His research focused on property rights, political competition and its effects on economic outcomes.
