Profile

Imad is an Energy and Climate Advisor within the Africa Governance team. He is author of a book published by Palgrave Macmillan (September 2021), The Political Economy of Hydropower Dependant Nations: A Case Study of Zambia. In addition, he is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in resilient infrastructure in resource constrained settings at the UCL Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction. He has previously worked as an investment professional in African private equity; as a transactions and policy advisor to the Rwandan government, helping the government negotiate privately funded thermal and renewable energy projects; and as an economist for a climate change focused consultancy. He has a PhD in Infrastructure Economics and Finance from UCL, a Master of International Business from The Fletcher School, Tufts University and a BA in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
