Maria Teresa Ferretti is a neuroscientist and neuroimmunologist, an expert in Alzheimer's and gender medicine and co-founder and scientific director of the Women's Brain Project, an internationally renowned not-for-profit organisation in the study of sex and gender in precision medicine. She graduated in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technologies at the University of Cagliari (Italy), then studied and worked in England, Canada (where she earned a PhD in Pharmacology and Pharmacological Therapy at McGill University in Montreal), Switzerland and Austria. Passionate about scientific dissemination and animated by the desire to break the taboo on mental and brain diseases, she was a TED-x speaker in 2019 and 2021. In 2021, she wrote A Headless Girl together with Antonella Santuccione Chadha, and she wrote Alzheimer Revolution in 2022. Both books explain the complexity of brain disorders to the laypublic.
