David Reid

David is passionate about helping open, liberal democracies survive, thrive and cooperate with each other.

His career spans roles at the centre of government, where he advised Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern on building partnerships with the tech sector, represented New Zealand in international trade negotiations at multilateral institutions – including the World Trade Organization, the United Nations, and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development – and held diplomatic postings in Brussels and Geneva.

Since joining TBI in 2024, he has contributed to Moldova’s strategic engagements on artificial intelligence and supported its energy minister at the Moldova Partnership Platform.
