Dan generates insights, analysis and strategic thinking on geopolitics, focusing on Europe and global trends. His key areas of work are understanding trends shaping Russia, and the implications of these for how it engages with the world – for example the war in Ukraine.

Dan spearheaded TBI’s groundbreaking response to the Covid-19 pandemic and drove our work on the Ukraine crisis following Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, and he led a team of researchers dedicated to driving the renewal of progressive politics around the world. Alongside our executive chairman, he has collaborated with various client countries, including a project on deep constitutional reform.

Before joining TBI, Dan worked with two cabinet ministers and helped set up the first UK-Turkey bilateral forum and the first UK parliamentary visit to Iran in a decade.
